GLASGOW: City Council has launched a new trade waste procedures project to help make Glasgow a cleaner, greener and safer city
Under this new project, trade waste will only be allowed on the streets at specific times of the day.
The project will be initially trialled in 8 city centre locations and extended to cover other areas in the coming months.
The project has a number of key objectives, including:
Under the new scheme, within selected times, waste is only allowed to be put outside for up to an hour. It is then the responsibility of the commercial property to arrange collection with waste contractors. All waste on streets including bins and bags must be clearly marked with the business’ name and time of collection,
Waste may only be placed on the street when the business is staffed and operational and cannot be left out overnight. Uncollected waste must be otherwise stored on premises.
